Eyes: the only part of the physical human that cannot lie. Eyes are always exactly what you are, they are what you're feeling, and what you've been through. They know what you want, and they are a personal advertisment to everyone you pass of exactly what you've always wanted to be. Some of us have trained ourselves well enough to promote happiness through brilliant thespian skills. It may fool those who will only glance across you as they walk by, but to those of us who pay attention, we can see right through you. All I've ever had to do is look someone in the eyes to know what they stand for. Then how have I been wrong in the past? How can someone fix themselves to change the advert of their being? That was why I had always loved eyes, they actually meant something. I will find another set, someday, that can tell me a story. Show me a life that I can read. But as we grow older, and every thing we've ever known ignites and vanishes, people mutate. And it only takes a few hundred to make the "window to the soul" nothing more than a vestigial structure. Reminding us all of a time when we knew something.
